Atlanta Braves Vintage Chief Mascot Patch
The Atlanta Braves Laughing Brave patch is a stylized and controversial logo used by the Braves franchise from 1957 to 1971. It was the primary emblem for the Milwaukee Braves and followed the team in 1966 to become the early logo of the Atlanta Braves.
The logo depicts a caricature of a Native American male with his head tilted back, laughing loudly, wearing a single feather and an earring. This logo, like the similar Chief Wahoo, is a prominent example of historical, racially stereotypical sports imagery.
